Project SAFE of the Cedar River Corridor Area, Inc. was established in memory of Garrett R. Farr, who lost his battle with depression on September 22, 2017. We exist as a Suicide Awareness Foundation & Education organization seeking to educate our community about depression and suicide. Our hope is that individuals gain the knowledge and confidence to start lifesaving conversations with those around them, so we can all help make a difference. Together we are saving lives, ONE LIFE at a TIME!
Project SAFE funds are used to award scholarships for graduating seniors who are entering the mental health field, grant funds toward mental health care copays and deductibles, and to offer Go Farrther — a FREE, 8-week support group program for up to 10 people who are grieving a sudden loss.
Through our events, resources, and funding initiatives, we not only work to end the stigma around depression and suicide, but we open an important dialogue around these issues and how each and every one of us can do our part to help.

We provide grants for individuals in need of counseling copay/deductible financial assistance.

Go Farr-ther provides support group services for persons experiencing sudden loss.

Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students working to reduce mental health stigma and improve societal understanding.
